Evidence of training from other Member States may be recognised by decision of the Provincial Government (Landesregierung) as a substitute for examinations and training in accordance with Vorarlberg regulations.
If there are substantial differences from the qualifications required by the Vorarlberg regulations and if these cannot be compensated by knowledge gained through professional experience or further professional training (seminars, other forms of further training), an aptitude test may be required. This must be approved by the Vorarlberg Ski Instructors’ Association (Vorarlberger Schilehrerverband).
With regard to the entrepreneurial examination, which is necessary for a ski school licence and/or for the acquisition of a permit, the applicant has the choice between an adaptation period and an aptitude test.
This also applies to evidence of training issued in third countries or to third-country nationals, provided that these are to be treated as equivalent on the basis of EU law or an international treaty.
Recognition is only necessary if the individual wishes to establish themselves in Vorarlberg as a licensed person or as an operator of a ski school, or if they want to be employed at a Vorarlberg ski school.
For only temporary and occasional services in Vorarlberg, the provisions regarding excursion traffic apply (see the relevant PSC form).
